Caring for Your Oral Health Is An Investment in Your Overall Health
Dental Implants

What goes on in your mouth can have a considerable effect on your overall health. The human body’s millions of amazing components work together to help it perform at its peak. It’s all interconnected.

At the office of Caring Dental, patients step into a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. We ensure that your visit will be pleasant from the moment you arrive. We enjoy getting to know our patients and establishing solid, long-term relationships with them.

Your mouth is full of bacteria and is the portal to your digestive and respiratory tracts. Without proper oral hygiene, some types of bacteria can spark problems elsewhere.

These are some of the various diseases and conditions that can be connected to the health of your mouth, teeth and gums:

  • Endocarditis is an infection of the inner lining of your heart chambers or valves. It usually materializes when germs (bacteria are germs) from elsewhere in your body, including your mouth, get into your bloodstream and attach to particular areas in your heart.
  • Cardiovascular disease. Heart disease, clogged arteries, and stroke might be linked to inflammation and infections that stem from oral bacteria.
  • Complications with pregnancy and birth. Periodontitis (gum disease) is a serious infection that damages the soft tissue that surrounds teeth. It’s been associated with low birth weight and premature birth.
  • Pneumonia. As the gateway to your lungs, certain oral bacteria can get into your respiratory system.

Stop Oral Problems Before They Start!

  • Commit to excellent oral hygiene. That means brushing your teeth with a soft-bristled brush and toothpaste at least twice a day for two minutes each time. Use string floss and a water flosser before your final brush of the day.
  • Replace your toothbrush every three to four months. See your dentist for checkups and cleanings every six months, although some people prefer every four months. Don’t smoke, and cut down on or eliminate sugary beverages and foods.
  • The office of Caring Dental understands the demands of our patient’s busy schedules. Our flexible appointment options make it easier for them to access superior dental care at a time that suits them best. Please don’t hesitate to call us for an appointment.
